Air Shell

Air Shell offers a fast and easy, instantaneous custom fit enhancement that can be done anywhere, anytime and only when needed (all Air Shell models utilize the same great Tecnica liners so Air Shell can be used to fine tune the fit). An air bladder is positioned between the liner and the shell and extends around the heel pocket and into the forefoot area. A control panel on the rear spine of the shell features a tool free pump system. The top pump inflates the air bladder and the lower button deflates. The air flows into the bladder only filling in the gaps (for example for better heel hold) for an instant fine-tuning of the fit. As an added benefit, air acts as an insulator enhancing warmth.

Power Chassis

The Power Chassis is a carbon steel frame that is integrated into the sole of the boot, extending completely from the toe to the heel including the binding interfaces. The result is a complete integration of the boot to the binding, which allows a direct transfer of power to the ski. The Power Chassis offers more torsional rigidity resulting in more power and efficiency with each turn.

NOTE: The Chassis can be removed for easier skiing characteristics in variable conditions. Lifters can be added for sole canting.

Bottom line: with the addition of the Power Chassis, the skier will have added quickness, power and efficiency in each turn.

Quick Instep

The Quick Instep System found in the 98mm Inferno Series and the 100mm new Demon Series, as well as the new Side Country Free Mountain boots offers those seeking a low volume performance shell, the opportunity to experience the performance without suffering the pain of entry and exit. A softer piece of plastic is co-molded in the instep area allowing the foot to slide in and out with ease!

I-Rebound

i-Rebound features a metal plate that attaches the cuff to the lower shell with four connection points. The i-Rebound provides flex resistance and power rebound as well as rear support.

Hinged Instep

The instep catch is on a hinge allowing it to adjust for better pressure distribution and closure. It can pivot away from the shell allowing the shell to spread without interference allowing easy entry & exit.

Cuff Mobility System

The cuff design on the Side Country models allows a long range of motion for uphill mobility. An easy switch from hike to ski mode offers great versatility. A wide cuff buckle and a velcro strap with buckle combine for a super secure closure. Click into ski mode for top performance heading down the mountain.

Note: To release the cuff: Pull up on the device tab. Flex forward until you hear a click to release the cuff and then move freely. To click into ski mode: Push the device down and flex forward until you hear the cuff lock into place.

Interchangeable Soles

All Freemountain models have the ability to switch from a DIN sole to a Tech Compatible sole. (or in the case of the Cochise – from a Tech to a DIN sole). The soles are available for purchase and are easily switched out with the allen key provided.

Arch Grip Support

A rubber insert on the arch is designed to give traction while walking on rocks or riding your snowmobile.

Flex Adjustment

The flex on the Inferno can be adjusted by removing either 1 or 2 of the rivets found on the rear spine. Using the tool provided remove one at a time until your preferred flex is reached. Be sure to remove the internal ring.

Delta Force System

The Delta Force System combines three components, each playing an important role in allowing the skier to adapt the power and rebound flex of the boot. 3D Construction, a modified hinge point and the device itself work together to provide direct power transmission and a smooth progressive flex in two flex settings. Simply flick the lever up for a stiffer setting and down to make the boot softer. The device is not affected by temperature for flex consistency.

Progressive Flex System

The Progressive Flex System provides a flex proportional to the skiers’ relative size by modifying the plastic thickness in the spine of the lower shell. This allows a consistent flex throughout the size range.

Power Lock Strap

The Power Lock Strap is a performance enhancing feature that offers increased closing power and acts like a 5th buckle. The lock has to be pulled up to release so it will not loosen due to gate impact.

Cuff Alignment

The cuff alignment system is easy to use and effective. It aligns the cuff to follow the shape of the lower leg increasing comfort and enhancing performance. Dual cuff alignment (inside and outside devices) increases the effectiveness. Your specialty retailer can find the perfect alignment for you to enhance performance and comfort.

Velcro Spoiler

Need more forward lean or a tighter fit around the lower leg? Leave the Velcro spoiler in place. If you need a more upright position, or more lower leg room, you can remove the spoiler altogether.

3 Position Catches

The cuff catches can be easily moved to fit varying leg shapes. The positioning catches have a range of 44mm: 22mm forward and 22mm back and can be moved using the tool provided in the box.

Phoenix MAX - 3.5 Buckle Closure

The 3.5 buckle closure system on the Phoenix Max is designed for convenience while still offering 4 buckle performance. The single, wide cuff buckle combined with the 45mm wide Velcro Powerstrap offers a secure performance closure with ultimate convenience.

Phoenix MAX - 9 Teeth Cuff Catch

The cuff catch on the Phoenix Max has 9 teeth for optimal versatility. The 2 innermost teeth are specially designed to stay latched when walking while the lever is open.

Phoenix MAX - 3D MAX Liners

The Phoenix Max liner features cuts in the forefoot area to allow it to expand and adapt to wider feet easily.

MEGA: Progressive Cushioning System

P.C.S. combines changes to the last, liner and footbed. The liner utilizes a thicker, slow memory ethafoam that offers a very comfortable, cushioning fit. The extra room in the shell last also allows for a thicker, multilayered footbed. The result is extreme comfort as well as enhanced shock absorption.

Viva Last

All Viva liners utilize lasts of women’s feet to create the best fitting boots. A narrower heel pocket and wider forefoot offer a well wrapping, anatomic fit.

Liners & Materials

Like the men’s liners, each model has a specific liner that offers various degrees of customization and performance. The Viva liners feature a velvet fur lining that enhances comfort and provides a quick drying and warmer liner.

Scallop Calf Design

Both the liners and the spoilers feature a lower scalloped design, which allows versatility to fit various calf sizes.

Calf Adapter Construction

Calf Adapter construction is found in the upper collar of the liners of the Viva Demon, Phoenix and Mega models. It consists of a softer material in a V cut shape on the upper sides allowing the liner collar to give and adapt to various lower leg shapes.

Easy Move Cuff Catch

The top cuff catch can be easily (tool free) moved to fit varying leg shapes. There are three different positions offering 27mm of adjustability. This unique Tecnica design increases the versatility and fit capabilities for various leg shapes.

Heel Cradle

All Viva models offer the ability to snap a heel wedge onto the bootboard for those female skiers who have difficulty keeping their hips forward. A 2.5mm wedge comes with the boots and can be used or not. It will also act as a volume reducer for those needing added heel hold.

Velcro Spoiler

The Viva Inferno, Demon and Phoenix models offer a velcro rear spoiler that allows you to easily adjust the spoiler for personalization. It can be moved to different positions to enhance fit around the lower leg or increase forward lean, or removed altogether for a more upright stance and more lower leg room.

3D Flared Collar Design

3D Construction in the collar of the Viva Demon, Phoenix and Mega liners, further enhances the fit capabilities of hard to fit calves. The collar is molded 3 dimensionally in a flared position to increase room for the calf.

3 Position Cuff Catches

In addition to the Easy Move Catch, all Viva models have 3 Position Cuff Catches. This further increases adjustability for various lower leg shapes and sizes.
